"I still don't understand that," Nick told Lindsey again when he and Jeff were dropping the girls off.
"What's there to understand?" Lindsey inquired. "Jeff's teaching Mich the bass, they talk normally to each other, and it's quiet. Let's keep it that way, okay?" He nodded and leaned down to kiss her. Part way there, he stopped. Lindsey made an annoyed sound. "What?" she asked.
"I just don't get how him offering to teach her the bass suddenly made them best friends," he exclaimed.
"It just did," Lindsey told him. He leaned toward her again, then stopped in the exact same place he had before.
"I just don't understand.." Nick began again.
"Look, there IS nothing to understand, Nick. Mich doesn't make any sense, she's not supposed to. If she did, she would probably would confuse more people than she does now. Besides, we know they liked each other before they started fighting. It was only a matter of time." She smiled at him. He nodded in response.
"Point taken." He leaned in again, then stopped. Lindsey sighed in frustration.
"Do I always have to be the to do this?" she asked. She took his head in her hands and kissed him.
"People, people!" Mich called.
"We are in public you know," Jeff finished for her. Lindsey and Nick broke apart and looked at them, irritated.
"And here I thought Mich said she didn't like it when people were too much like her," Lindsey mumbled.
"Jeff's not like this usually. She must have done something to him."
"Well, Mich does have that effect on people. It's her 'animal magnetism.'"
"Do you mind not talking about me?" Mich asked. "I'm standing right here." Lindsey nodded in apology.
"Um, Jeff and I have discussed it quickly, and we want to take you two out to dinner tomorrow," Nick told them.
"We have something of extreme importance that we need to discuss with you. We'll come out right after the performance and pick you guys up, okay?" Jeff added.
"And, what time will that be exactly?" Mich questioned.
"Four," Jeff told her.
"You don't have to work tomorrow, do you?" Nick asked. Mich gave him a dirty look.
"It's Sunday," Mich pointed out. "What kind of an idiot would work a Sunday. It's a day of rest. Sure, it's the wrong day," Mich began.
"Mich, discuss that with them when they have more time," Lindsey told her. Mich nodded reluctantly.
"Sorry," Nick exclaimed. "I was just asking."
"Besides, we work tomorrow," Jeff pointed out.
"Like I said," Mich said with a smile. "What kind of idiots would work a Sunday?" Jeff just smiled, sort of confusing Lindsey. He seemed to have REALLY adjusted to Mich's attitude.
"You just insulted Drew," Jeff told Mich. Mich made a shocked sound.
"Oh!" Mich exclaimed. "Po' Dwew! I'm so sowwy!" This made Jeff smile more. He had obviously figured out how to handle Mich, with a grain of salt like every other one of her friends did. Now if only Nick would learn that. Although, he had admitted once that he liked her. It was a start.
